VMware Horizon App Publishing & Custom Icons

If you’re presenting applications in VMware Horizon  and instead of using a generic icon you want to use your own unique application icons.  For example, you’ve got  a web application that you want to launch using Internet Explorer via RDS (perhaps some legacy intranet application).  If you deploy the application in View using an Application pool, there’s no obvious way of pulling in a custom icon.  You end up with a generic icon – for example, for a web application using Internet Explorer, you get the icon for Internet Explorer as per below

The first thing to do is download Advanced Bat To EXE Converter, then proceed with the installation

We're going to change the Internet Explorer icon and redirect it to the Telegram URL: https://web.telegram.org/#/login

As follows:
We add the path where the Internet Explorer executable is, which is the following: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

Followed by the URL path where you will be redirected: https://web.telegram.org/#/login

As shown in the picture

Then we press Build EXE and select the icon that we want to place with .ICO format

Then we execute Build EXE and add the path where the .exe will be and the name with which it will be saved, preferably in the following path

We verify that the .EXE exists in the indicated route

The next step will be to add it in the VMware View administrator as follows:

Add aplication pool manually
Path: The path where the .EXE is located in the RDS

Then we will have our web application with a new icon
